Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Abstract Review Committee, we are pleased to invite you to submit your scientific work for presentation at the AORA Global Summit 2027, to be held from 10-13 June 2027 in Mumbai, India.

We welcome submissions of original research, cadaveric research, educational research, quality improvement initiatives, and clinically relevant case reports that advance the science and practice of regional anaesthesia, perioperative ultrasound, pain medicine, vascular access, and perioperative care.

All eligible abstracts will undergo a rigorous peer-review process. Accepted abstracts will be presented as either Podium Presentations or Electronic Poster (E-Poster) Presentations based on the peer-review outcome. Outstanding presentations will be recognised through the AORA Best Paper Competition.

Abstract Submission - Important Deadlines

Prerequisite for Abstract Submission

  • Only registered delegates are eligible to submit an abstract to the AORA Global Summit 2027.
  • Registration for the conference is mandatory before accessing the online abstract submission portal.
  • Authors must complete conference registration and obtain a valid registration number, which will be required during the abstract submission process.
  • Each registered delegate may submit one abstract in accordance with the conference submission guidelines.

Abstract Submission Pathway

To ensure a smooth and successful submission, authors are requested to complete the following steps in sequence. Please read each step carefully before submitting your abstract.

Step 1. Select Your Author Category

Choose the category that best describes the presenting author.

Faculty

Faculty members, consultants, specialists, attending physicians and independent practitioners.

Postgraduate / Resident / Fellow

Postgraduate students, Senior Residents, fellows and trainees enrolled in recognised training programmes.

Important: The selected author category determines eligibility for the AORA Best Paper

Competition: Please ensure that the presenting author's category is selected correctly at the time of submission. The Abstract Review Committee reserves the right to reclassify author category, where appropriate.

Step 2. Select Your Abstract Type

Choose one of the following abstract categories.

Original Research

Suitable for:

  • Clinical Research
  • Basic Science Research
  • Cadaveric Research

Case Report / Case Series

Suitable for:

  • Rare or challenging clinical cases
  • Novel regional anaesthesia or pain interventions
  • Innovative techniques
  • Unexpected complications with important learning points
  • Educationally valuable case reports or case series

The Abstract Review Committee reserves the right to reclassify any submission if deemed more appropriate.

Step 3. Select the Scientific Track

Select the scientific track that best represents the subject of your submission.

The Abstract Review Committee may reassign an abstract to a more appropriate scientific track to facilitate peer review and scientific presentation.

Step 4. Prepare Your Abstract

Prepare your abstract according to the prescribed submission requirements.

4.1 General Submission Requirements

Prepare your abstract according to the following formatting requirements. Abstracts not complying with these requirements may be returned for correction or rejected at the discretion of the Abstract Review Committee.

Step 5. Verify Eligibility and Complete Mandatory Declarations

Originality

  • Only original work may be submitted.
  • Abstracts that have previously been presented at a national or international scientific meeting or published in a peer-reviewed journal are not eligible.
  • Interim analyses previously presented may be submitted provided the AORA submission contains substantially more complete data.

Prior Submission

  • Abstracts submitted to another journal or scientific meeting but pending acceptance may be submitted.
  • If accepted elsewhere before AORA 2027, authors must promptly notify the Abstract Review Committee.

Conflict of Interest

All actual or potential conflicts of interest for every author must be declared.

Commercial Bias

  • AORA Global Summit is committed to scientific content free from commercial influence.
  • Generic drug names should be used wherever possible.
  • Trade names or brand names should only be used when evaluation of that product forms the primary objective of the study.

Artificial Intelligence

Authors must disclose the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools during abstract preparation.
Failure to disclose AI use may result in rejection.

Ethics Approval

Studies involving human participants, identifiable patient information or animals must have prior approval from the appropriate Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC) or Institutional Review Board (IRB), where applicable.

Patient Consent

Written informed consent must be declared wherever applicable.

Step 6. Submit Your Abstract

Abstracts must be submitted exclusively through the AORA Global Summit 2027 Online Abstract Submission Portal.

Before submitting your abstract, please ensure that:

  • You have completed registration for the AORA Global Summit 2027 and possess a valid registration number.
  • The correct Author Category has been selected.
  • The appropriate Abstract Type has been selected.
  • The correct Scientific Track has been selected.
  • The abstract has been prepared according to the prescribed format.
  • The submission complies with the word, figure and table limits.
  • All required sections have been completed.
  • The abstract contains complete study data and results (where applicable).
  • All mandatory declarations have been completed
  • The abstract has been uploaded in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format.

Following successful submission, a confirmation email acknowledging receipt of the abstract will be sent to the corresponding author.

All submitted abstracts will subsequently undergo peer review by the AORA 2027 Abstract Review Committee.

PEER REVIEW AND ACCEPTANCE

All eligible abstracts submitted to the AORA Global Summit 2027 will undergo an independent peer-review process conducted by the Abstract Review Committee to ensure scientific quality, fairness, and consistency.

Peer Review Process

  • All submitted abstracts will first undergo an administrative review to ensure compliance with the submission guidelines and mandatory declarations.
  • Eligible abstracts will then be independently reviewed by at least two reviewers with expertise in the relevant scientific field.
  • Abstracts will be evaluated using a standardized scoring system based on predefined scientific criteria.
  • In the event of a significant discrepancy between reviewer scores, the abstract may be referred to an additional reviewer or the Abstract Review Committee for final adjudication.
  • The identity of reviewers will remain confidential throughout the review process.

Evaluation Criteria

Abstracts will be assessed based on the following criteria:

  • Originality and innovation
  • Clinical relevance and potential impact
  • Completeness and quality of presented data
  • Clarity of writing and organisation
  • Educational value and contribution to regional anaesthesia, pain medicine and perioperative ultrasound

Acceptance Decisions

Based on the peer-review scores, abstracts will receive one of the following decisions:

Podium Presentation

The top six highest-scoring abstracts in each of the following author categories:

  • Faculty
  • Postgraduate / Resident / Fellow

will be selected for Podium Presentation and will qualify for the AORA Best Paper Competition.

Electronic Poster (E-Poster)

All other accepted abstracts that meet the required scientific and ethical standards will be accepted for presentation as Electronic Posters (E-Posters).

Rejected

Abstracts that do not meet the required scientific quality, originality, methodological standards, or submission requirements will not be accepted for presentation.

The Abstract Review Committee reserves the right to:

  • Reassign an abstract to a more appropriate scientific track.
  • Reclassify the abstract type, where appropriate.
  • Reject abstracts that do not comply with the submission guidelines or ethical requirements.

The decision of the Abstract Review Committee shall be final.

Notification of Results

The corresponding author will be notified of the outcome of the peer review by email according to the conference timeline.

The notification email will include:

  • The final decision on the submitted abstract (Podium Presentation, Electronic Poster, or Rejected).
  • Instructions for accepting the invitation to present the abstract.
  • Presentation guidelines, including presentation format, duration, and technical specifications.
  • Important deadlines for presenter confirmation and submission of presentation materials, where applicable.

Authors selected for Podium Presentation will receive additional instructions regarding the Best Paper Competition, presentation schedule, judging criteria, and presentation requirements.

Authors selected for Electronic Poster (E-Poster) presentation will receive detailed instructions regarding E-Poster preparation, formatting specifications, submission procedures, and presentation requirements. E-Poster presenters will also be required to present and discuss their work before the designated judging panel during the scheduled E-Poster evaluation session.

All correspondence regarding the abstract will be sent only to the corresponding author. It is the responsibility of the corresponding author to communicate all relevant information to the co-authors.

Failure to comply with the instructions or deadlines communicated in the notification email may result in withdrawal of the accepted abstract from the scientific programme.

Best Paper Competition

The AORA Global Summit 2027 recognises outstanding scientific presentations through separate awards for Podium Presentations and Electronic Poster (E-Poster) Presentations.

Podium Presentation Awards

The top six highest-scoring abstracts in each author category will compete for:

  • First Prize
  • Second Prize
  • Third Prize

Electronic Poster Awards

All accepted Electronic Poster (E-Poster) presentations will be evaluated during the scheduled judging session.

Awards will be presented separately in each author category:

  • First Prize
  • Second Prize
  • Third Prize

Author Categories

Awards will be presented separately for:

  • Faculty
  • Postgraduate / Resident / Fellow

The decision of the judging panel shall be final.
