Message to Every Regional Anaesthesiologist

"One Family. One Vision. One Future of Regional Anaesthesia." [AORA]

The Academy of Regional Anaesthesia of India (AORA) has always been much more than a professional society—it is a movement that has transformed the practice of regional anaesthesia in our country. Over the years, it has inspired generations of anaesthesiologists to embrace ultrasound-guided regional anaesthesia not merely as a technique, but as a lifelong academic pursuit, fostering excellence in patient care, innovation, teaching, and research. Every AORA conference has ignited new aspirations, nurtured young talent, and created mentors who continue to shape the future of our specialty.

AORA 2027, Mumbai promises to carry this legacy to even greater heights. The scientific programme is being designed to challenge, inspire, and empower every delegate. Thought-provoking deliberations, evidence-based lectures, interactive masterclasses, stimulating pro–con debates, expert panel discussions, and the hallmark live workshops—an enduring signature of AORA—will provide unparalleled opportunities for hands-on learning under the guidance of national and international experts. These experiences bridge the gap between knowledge and practice, allowing participants to return home with skills that can be implemented immediately for better patient outcomes.

One of the defining strengths of AORA has always been its sense of belonging. Beyond the lecture halls and workshops, friendships are forged, collaborations are born, and professional relationships evolve into lifelong bonds. The cultural evenings, social interactions, and shared experiences remind us that AORA is not simply an academy—it is a family. Every conference welcomes new members into this vibrant fraternity, creating an environment where learning is joyful, mentorship is natural, and excellence becomes a collective pursuit.

The academic vision of AORA continues to expand. Through the Cadaver Research Academic Board (CRAB–AORA), structured cadaveric education has been successfully implemented across multiple skill laboratories throughout India, creating a nationwide platform for anatomy-based regional anaesthesia training. This landmark initiative has elevated the quality of hands-on education and has become one of the most distinctive academic strengths of AORA. The cadaveric workshops at AORA conferences now represent a benchmark for experiential learning, seamlessly integrating anatomical understanding with contemporary ultrasound-guided techniques.

Equally exciting is the continued growth of the International Journal of Regional Anaesthesia (IJRA-AORA), our official academic journal. With steadily increasing scientific contributions and unwavering commitment to quality, IJRA is progressing confidently towards international indexing, providing an important platform for disseminating Indian research to the global regional anaesthesia community. Together, CRAB–AORA and IJRA exemplify AORA's unwavering commitment to advancing education, research, and scientific excellence.

None of this would be possible without extraordinary leadership and selfless dedication. Dr. Vrushali, our dynamic Managing Trustee, embodies the true spirit of AORA. Her remarkable energy, unwavering commitment, exceptional organizational ability, visionary leadership, and indefatigable "never-say-die" attitude have been instrumental in driving numerous AORA initiatives. Her passion inspires everyone around her, transforming ambitious ideas into successful realities and ensuring that AORA continues to grow stronger with every passing year.

As we prepare for AORA 2027 in Mumbai, I extend a heartfelt invitation to every REGIONAL ANESTHESIOLOGIST. This is not merely another annual conference; it is a celebration of learning, innovation, collaboration, and the enduring spirit of our fraternity. Let us come together to learn from one another, inspire the next generation, strengthen old friendships, build new collaborations, and contribute to the continued growth of regional anaesthesia in India.

For me personally, this conference may well be my final AORA meeting in an active leadership role after an immensely fulfilling journey with this wonderful organization. If that indeed is the case, I can think of no better culmination than witnessing the entire AORA family unite to create an unforgettable academic experience. I earnestly urge each one of you to participate wholeheartedly, contribute generously, and help us make AORA 2027, Mumbai a truly spellbinding academic extravaganza—one that will inspire the next generation of regional anaesthesiologists and stand as another proud milestone in the remarkable journey of AORA.

Mumbai awaits. The AORA family awaits. Let us write the next glorious chapter together.
